- 2 large potatoes russet or Yukon Gold
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder optional
- ½ teaspoon paprika optional
Prepare the Potatoes: Wash and peel the potatoes (if desired). Cut them into ¼-inch to ½-inch thick fries. Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for 10 minutes to remove excess starch, then pat them dry with a clean towel.
Season the Fries: In a large bowl, toss the potato fries with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika (if using). Ensure the fries are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
Cook the Fries: Place the seasoned fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not overlapping. Cook for 10 minutes, then shake the basket to flip the fries. Cook for an additional 10 minutes or until the fries are golden brown and crispy.
Serve: Transfer the cooked fries to a serving plate. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.
- Ensure the potatoes are cut into uniform sizes for even cooking.
- You can adjust the seasoning to suit your taste preferences.
- For extra crispy fries, cook them in batches to avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket.
